Irans national beach soccer team at Katara Beach in the Qatari capital Doha[/caption]Iran defeated world champion Russia in Group B of the third Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup at the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) on Tuesday.
The two teams drew 2-2 in regulation time and Iran beat Russia 5-4 in a penalty shootout.
Brazil also defeated Italy 5-2 in the group.
In group A the UAE and Morocco played out a goalless draw and Switzerland defeated Mexico 6-5 in a penalty shootout.
The Iranian outfit will face powerhouse Brazil on Wednesday while Russia play Italy.
