Iran can count on allies against Israel: Analyst

Iran should bring together its allies across the world in order to overcome stiff opposition from Israel and its lobbies in the United States to Tehrans nuclear energy program, an analyst says.
I think Iran should ... try to gather its allies together and make efforts to solidify its support [base] in the international community, Hamid Golpira told Press TV in an interview on Thursday.

As far as the Iranian nuclear program is going, a lot of things are happening at once in this. You have opposition of Israel, [and] the opposition of the Israeli lobby in the United States, he said.

But, Golpira noted, some forces in the world, even among the Western countries, are not opposed to Iran's position.
If much of the world supports Iran, after a while, the opposition of a few countries is not going to be possible, he said, adding, [Despite] the fact that a few countries are against Iran, they are not going to be able to stand up to the rest of the world. So this is a possibility in the future.
Golpira also described France as the chief "spoiler in the nuclear talks between Iran and six world powers in Geneva last week, which came close to an agreement.

I do not know if it would be proper and correct to completely say it was only France and everybody else was ready to sign a final deal because it seems that there were a couple of sticking points left; a couple of points not resolved, Golpira added.

Tehran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the United states -- plus Germany discussed Irans nuclear energy program behind closed doors in Geneva from November 7 to November 10.

The two sides could not reach a deal in Geneva, but stressed that significant progress had been made and expressed optimism about the prospect of achieving a deal. The two sides agreed to continue negotiations on November 20 in the same venue.
