Iran to revive oil swap operations
TEHRAN Oct 30 (Shana): A deputy minister of petroleum has said that Iran will soon resume its crude oil swap operations in its northern oil terminal in the near future.
Roknoddin Javadi, who is also managing-director of National Iranian Oil Company, told a symposium of Iranian oil terminals managers that the revival of swap operations will boost the capabilities of Irans oil industry and make the Islamic Republics energy diplomacy more effective.

In order to prepare the necessary infrastructures for the revival of these operations, numerous meetings have been held with Petroleum Minister and we have reached good results, he said.

To that end, all necessary structures have been prepared and development projects related to that plan are continuing properly, he added.

Javadi also said that the contracts need to be studied with regards to projects as they are being revised. He added that a new framework will be defined in the mid-term.

The official stated that Iran Oil Terminals Company (IOTC)s projects in northern Iran are going on properly.

He added that NIOC subsidiaries will see their authority increase in decision-making and financial affairs.

Meanwhile, IOTC Managing-Director Pirouz Mousavi said that the construction of an oil pool in north of Iran will help the country increase its crude oil swap capacity.

He said oil tankers with the capacities of 14,000 tons can also berth.
