Iran active diplomacy slowed pace of sanctions: Rouhani

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says the Islamic Republics active diplomacy has slowed down the increasing pace of illegal sanctions against the country.
The administrations diplomatic initiative in constructive interaction with the world ... has both made the [world] governments praise the democracy in Iran and halted the growing process of [imposing] sanctions [against the country], the Iranian president said on Sunday.
Irans active diplomacy has taken the initiative and attracted world public opinion ... and is moving step by step toward removing the obstacles to the Iranian nations progress by consolidating Irans inalienable nuclear rights, Rouhani said.
He made the comments days after Tehran and the six major world powers -- the US, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany -- held two days of talks over Irans nuclear energy program in Geneva on October 15-16.

On the first day of closed-door discussions, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif presented Irans new proposal titled Closing an Unnecessary Crisis, Opening New Horizons. EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton described the plan as an important contribution.

The Iranian president said the Israeli regime, which wants to obstruct the process of understanding and interaction between Iran and the international community, has now been isolated.
Throughout the history of the Islamic Revolution, we have witnessed that whenever the Islamic establishment gets close to a success in the international political scene, the Zionist Israelis commit acts of sabotage ... inside and outside [of Iran], Rouhani noted.
The Tel Aviv regime, which is believed to be the sole possessor of nuclear weapons in the region with 200-400 warheads, has repeatedly warned against easing pressures against Iran over its nuclear energy program.
