Tehran, Oct 20, IRNA The heavy burden of confidence-building is currently on shoulders of the US government, Irans top nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said on Saturday evening.
Speaking in a televised program here, the deputy foreign minister said that US has to make its outmost efforts to win the trust of the Iranian nation who has no confidence in that country.

We consider the US policies suspiciously and pessimistically, Araqchi said.

He referred to the Zionist regime as the main enemy of Iran-5+1 talks, the latest round of which took place in Geneva, Switzerland, on October 15-16 with participation of representatives of Iran on one side and those of the US, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany on the other.

Zionists are trying to damage the existing atmosphere and cease progress of the talks by making disinformation and false speculations, Araqchi said.

He referred to Irans nuclear talks with the sextet as a diplomatic challenge.

Noting that Tehran was not optimistic about its negotiating partners, Araqchi stressed that the Iranian diplomats are however hopeful about the talks.

A diplomat should have hope. Without hope no talks will continue. There is an expression saying when diplomacy ends war begins, he said.

Referring to the secrecy policy which was in act on contents of Irans nuclear talks with the Group 5+1 in Geneva, Araqchi said confidentiality of the talks indicated its seriousness.

He added that the details of the talks would be made public in due time and then the Iranian nation would find out how the negotiating team defended its rights.
