"If the West gives up on setting conspiraciesin the region, the Revolution Guards will not aim to create a military dominance in the region."

Stating that Iran does need to intervene in any country in the region Rohani said,"They should leave the region and give up on Iranophobia. Our woe is for democracy. We value the will and views of the peoples of Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Palestine and all other countries. All our efforts are for peace and stability in Syria. We appreciate whomever the Syrian people elected or voted for."

He added that the tension inLibya, Tunisia, Yemen andBahrain were reflections of the plan pursued by the West.

- Nuclear program and sanction

Expressing that the region is passingthrough a very sensitive period, Rohani claimed that there are many conspiracies about Iran. He stated that western sanctions targeted the welfare of the people in Iran since they generally applied to oil and banking.

"The West knows very well that we are not after nuclear weapons. The greatest proof of this is the decree by our religious leader Khamenei declaring the production, trial and use of nuclear weapons as being forbidden. This is a clear sign that Iran is not after nuclear weapons, but peaceful nuclear technology," said Rohani.
