Syrian rockets hit pro-militant area in Arsal, Lebanon media say
A Syrian military helicopter has fired a number of rockets into Lebanons eastern town of Arsal, Lebanons National News Agency says.
A military helicopter violated Lebanese airspace and fired four rockets at 01:30 am [local time on Thursday] (2230 GMT) in the Arsal area, two of which exploded, causing damage, a Lebanese security source said on condition of anonymity.

No casualties have been reported.

The attack comes as Syria has already asked Lebanon to control its border and prevent the transfer of arms and militants into Syria.

Reports say the helicopter staged a mock raid, before firing a number of rockets into the border town.

Scores of foreign-backed Takfiri militants operating inside Syria have taken refuge in the eastern Lebanese border town.

Foreign-sponsored militancy in Syria has taken its toll on the lives of many people, including large numbers of Syrian soldiers and security personnel, since March 2011.

Western powers and their regional allies including the Israeli regime, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are partners in supporting anti-Syria militant groups, including al-Qaeda-linked terrorists, to destabilize Syria and overthrow the Syrian government.

Syria has repeatedly reported the infiltration of militants from Lebanon across its border.

On July 16, gunmen assassinated Mohammed Darrar Jammo, the pro-Syria head of the political and international relations division of the International Organization for Arab Immigrants, in southern Lebanon.

According to the United Nations, more than 90,000 people have died and millions of others displaced in over two years of violence in Syria.
