Forty Iranian women hold art expo in Tehran

Forty Iranian women display their artwork in Tehran after holding exhibitions in Europe. Unexposed Art Expo called for the works of forty young Iranian women artists between ages of twenty and forty. The works of forty artists were selected from one thousand that had forwarded their works to the secretariat of the exhibition. The works of art are mostly contemporary. The Organizer of the event told us what the European audience thought of the works.
Unexposed exhibition was inaugurate in Brussels with 75 works of art and continued from November 9th until December 25, 2012 in Brussels. It was then exhibited in February and March 2013 in Athens and April 15th until June 15th of this year in Warsaw, Polish Capital. The artworks were put on display in Tehran on June 30th. The owner of the art gallery told us about the aim of this event.

The artists talked to Press TV about their art and inspiration.

Contemporary art includes and develops from postmodern art which is itself a successor to Modern art. Experts say the modern art movement in Iran had its genesis in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
