Iran builds world's biggest CHP system

Iran builds world
TEHRAN (ISNA)- The world's largest Geothermal Heat Pump (GHP) system has been manufactured in the central Iranian city of Qom.
The device with the capacity of over 120,000 British thermal unit (BTU/h) has been designed and developed locally for heating and cooling the warm water required for the city, said Qolam Reza Faraji, Head of Qom Gas Company.

The highest GHP capacity recorded in the country has reached 36,000 BUT/h so far, he added.

High expenses and time-consuming pipelines establishment required for providing heating energies in sparsely-populated rurals mostly located in impassable and mountainous areas have made the company to replace natural gas with other options such as renewable energies, using GHP systems.

He further continued the newly-designed system saves the country's currency and creates a lot of job opportunities.
