Iran produces petrochemical units feedstock from toxic waste

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian oil experts have managed to produce feedstock for petrochemical units from toxic waste, mastering the know-how for building plasma torch to produce synthesis gas from waste.
Gasification of waste by plasma method is the newest and most advanced technology to generate energy from waste. The method generates the highest percentage of energy from waste and creates the least environmental contamination.

The system with high temperature is the best choice to destroy toxic and dangerous waste such as industrial, chemical and hospital waste. Synthesis gas is a useful material with high thermal value and can be changed to all petrochemical products. The gas can be used as feedstock for petrochemical units.

Plasma torches are one of the sources for producing hot plasma which are able to synthesize plasma with 2000 to 10000 C. The torches do not need oxygen or fossil fuel and change electric energy to thermal energy with high temperature.

The system can change up to 98 percent of input waste to synthesis gas and remove the remains (metals and glasses which cannot be evaporated) from reactor in the form of melt. The remains are harmless material in the environment and can be utilized in building and road construction industries because their solidness.

These devices do not produce pollutants such as NOX SOX and dioxins produced by most of other systems.
