Pakistani PM thanks Iran for supplying electricity to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (NNI): Mr. Rostam Ghasemi, Iranian Minister for Petroleum called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the Prime Ministers Secretariat here on Wednesday.
Talking to the Iranian Minister, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf termed the agreement between the two countries on construction of Pak- Gas Pipeline as a leap forward.

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf also thanked Iran for supplying electricity to Pakistan which caters to the requirements of Gwadar.

Mr. Rostam Ghasemi said that Iran and Pakistan enjoy close brotherly relations. Pakistan and Iran, he said can further expand their ties by expanding their economic relations and leveraging their comparative economic advantages.

The Iranian Minister informed the Prime Minister that work on the Iran-Pakistan Gas pipeline on the Iranian side is complete.

Mr. Rostam also conveyed greetings and best wishes of the President of Iran Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister expressed the hope that the meetings between the oil Ministers of the two countries is fruitful and asked the Iranian Minister to convey his greetings and best wishes to the President of Iran.

Advisor on Petroleum Dr. Asim Hussain was also present during the meeting.
